[Cnidaria] The part of a hydromedusa which, in shape, resembles a bell, excluding the manubrium and associated structures; there is no hard distinction from umbrella (n.; adj. = umbrellar) which is generally applied to the somewhat flatter 'bells' though the two terms can be, and are, interchanged. Disc is also used, perhaps more in scyphomedusae than in hydromedusae.
