[Crustacea] Third larval stage in development of Euphausiacea, characterised by differentiation of abdomen and appearance of compound eyes beneath the carapace.
The abdomen becomes segmented in stage 2. Uropods develop in stage 3, along with the separation of the telson from the 6th abdominal segment. There are no pleopods. There are three stages in this phase.see also zoea.
