[Isopoda] Isopod marsupia are typically formed by overlapping medial plates (oostegites) arising from certain pereional coxae in females; in a few groups the oostegites have been reduced or lost in favour of internal brooding.
[Ostracoda] In myodocopids the marsupium is in the postero-dorsal region of the carapace.
Alternative form for marsupium : brood pouch.
