Diagnosis
Body flattened; eyes (if present) very large, often touching almost mid-dorsally; mouthparts developed for sticking and sucking; pereiopods 1-3 with very large prehensile dactyls [p-i-hooks ]; pereiopods 2-4 with cylindrical carpo-propodus (c-p); antenna (a2) normal [p-Aegidae ]; adults ectoparasitic on fishes; often caught with plankton nets.
