Description
(After the description of a newly released medusa). Mouth with four oral tentacles dichotomously branched once, inserted above mouth opening [T.russelli-newly ]. (Gonads not yet developed, but they will be situated interradially on manubrium,as is typically for the subfamily Thamnostominae). Eight marginal tentacular bulbs, four [l][m]Glossary[/m][r]perradius[/r]perradial each with one tentacle, four interradial bulbs developing tentacles. Without ocelli.

Size
Umbrella 1.2-1.6 mm high, 1.2-1.35 mm wide.

Distribution in the North Sea
Near Bergen, Norway.

World distribution
Norwegian coast.
