Description
— Generic. Body laterally compressed. Female with antennule (a1) as long as, or shorter than antenna (a2). Mandible with large molar process, mandibular palp with elongated second segment. Maxillar palp leaf-like and broad. Maxilliped with sharp outer plate. Gnathopods unequal in shape. First gnathopod simple, with broad carpus, but without a process (and not forming a chela together with propodus). Carpus of second gnathopod elongated, forming a chela together with the propodus. Pereiopods 3-4 with broad carpus. Pereiopods 5-7 longer than pereiopods 3-4 and with elongated propodus. Uropods relatively slender. Telson small.
— Specific. Dorsal keels present; pereion segments 6-7 and pleon segments 1-2 with slight dorsal spination. Female antennular flagellum (a1) curved.
Carpus of second gnathopod with process (fixed finger) almost as long as the propodus (movable finger).
Pereiopod 3-4 with merus (fourth joint) longer than wide. Carpus elongated and oval, on pereiopod 6 about two times longer than wide. Hind margin of carpus with unequally sized setae. Pereiopod 5 slightly longer than pereiopods 6-7; propodus almost as long as the three preceding joints together (ischium, merus, carpus), anterior margin beset with fine teeth and regular setae.
Dactylus smooth.
Uropods slender; peduncle of the first uropod is more slender than that of the second uropod.
Colour
Body transparent, with red spots on the abdomen.
